Electric End-Over-End Drum Mixer for the Food Industry
At STS over the past twenty-five years, we have developed great working relationships with a network of knowledgeable distributors.
They each have a passion for manual handling equipment, making them the perfect businesses to supply and sell their products. As our supply networks have grown, we work not only with distributors in the UK but throughout the world.
One such distributor is ASP Handling (ASP bvba), a Belgium-based supplier of premium quality machinery designed to make manual handling easier. They are long-term partners with a company called Stop Spices, a spices exporter in the Dendermonde region of Belgium.
With decades of experience in their sector, Stop Spices pride themselves on their ability to provide premium-grade products and is committed to finding the right solutions for their customers - which made them the perfect match for ASP Handling and ourselves!
Stop Spices wanted to source a new drum mixer to make combining their seasonings a more efficient and precise process. Understandably, this would be a significant investment for the business and they needed to take the time to be sure they were purchasing the right equipment in that it was fit for purpose and built to last.
The customer was considering purchasing an STS Electric End-Over-End Drum Mixer. However, they needed to be sure that it would homogenise their spices correctly. It is not uncommon for us to demonstrate our products at our plant in Cornwall, UK, it’s great for our potential customers to get behind the scenes and see first-hand the quality and efficiency of our machinery. So, to reassure them, we organised a trial where they could come over to the UK and see the unit in action and trial the mixer with their exact ingredients.
When the Stop Spices team arrived at our site for testing we carried out a trial designed to allow them to assess both the mix consistency and the mixing times for their food products. There’s real value in being able to test these processes first-hand and see how they might fit into, or improve, a company’s existing operations.
The goal of the trial was to evaluate whether or not the spices could be mixed. The trial went really well and was a huge success. The correct mixture consistency was achieved sooner than expected, which was a great outcome for all involved.
So what next? Stop Spices is now working with ASP Handling to move forward with purchasing an electric drum mixer.
We provide drum mixers for a wide variety of sectors and you’d be surprised how many other companies are completing a similar process, mixing spices or other dry, powdered ingredients. Many of them would most certainly find an electric drum mixer useful for not only ensuring a concise quality of mix but also for improving their processes and overall efficiency.
