The fully automatic beak grip improves efficiency within the workplace. The drum gripper is able to grip onto a range of different 205L steel and plastic drums with ease. The operator simply drives the unit towards the drum until the gripper makes contact, they then raise the gripper and it automatically clamps the top lip of the drum while simultaneously lifting the drum. We can offer a range of different drum grippers suitable for different drum types, sizes and applications.

Battery powered drive system
Battery powered drive system
Our battery-powered drive system comprises two 180Ah batteries and an electric drive motor. The efficient drive motor is controlled using a rear tiller assembly which combines industry-standard controls as well as the drum lit and lower functions. An on-board battery charger is located within the control box, simply connect a mains power supply to the unit whenever the batteries are low to return the unit to a fully-charged state. Our powered drum lifters are designed, built and tested in our UK manufacturing facility.
Counterbalance design
Counterbalance design
A counterbalanced design is the most popular type of drum lifter; with no legs in front of the lifter, drums can be placed without difficulty on a range of different platforms including pallets, bunds, conveyors, machines and dollies. Our counterbalance drum handler can be specified for different drum weights; for example, if you handle very heavy 400kg drums we can supply a suitable unit with sufficient counterweight. All units we design are in conformance with relevant British Standards for stability to ensure only the safest equipment is supplied to our customers.
Tiller controls
Tiller controls
Our battery-operated drive system is controlled from the rear via a steerable tiller. When placing drums precision is important, the speed control is variable and is adjusted using the throttles on the tiller. An anti-trap switch protects operators during use and a built-in horn is fitted to warn personnel in the vicinity. The tiller controls are similar to that of a mobile stacker truck which means operators will find controls familiar.
Drum suitability
Drum suitability
As with our other drum lifters, you can use the Powered Drum Lifter / Handler with a wide variety of drum types and sizes, which is useful if you handle different drums in your plant. For details on compatible drums please see our drum suitability document. If the drums you use are not shown in the document please contact us and we can offer advice and guidance.
