The quality of the wheels and bearing used, determine the rolling resistance and hence the force required to push a fully-loaded dolly. We source high-quality elasticated rubber wheels to ensure our drum dollies perform well in all environments, particularly when a heavy drum is being moved. To keep the drum dolly in a static position when not in use the wheels are fitted with foot-operated park brakes as standard. If you require a custom wheel specification for a particular project then please get in touch.

Fabricated by qualified welders
Fabricated by qualified welders
We understand the industrial environment and know how much punishment equipment takes throughout daily operations. Welding standards are the main focus when managing quality at STS; we want all equipment to last decades and not just a few years, as such we employ only qualified and skilled welders to fabricate our equipment. The drum dolly shown has an inner frame welded around an outer rolled stainless steel ring, we can also supply a fully-welded and enclosed dolly to act as a drip tray and prevent any leaks from reaching the floor.
Safe drum loading
Safe drum loading
The drum dolly can be loaded using one of our Drum Tippers or Drum Lifting Trolleys. Alternately another safe piece of drum lifting equipment can be used to place the drum onto the dolly. It is important the dolly is only used on flat and level ground to prevent roll-away which could be dangerous to those in the vicinity. For other tips on drum handling safety view our latest safety information.
Stainless steel construction
Stainless steel construction
Our Stainless Steel Dolly (304-grade) is corrosion resistant and can be used in both clean rooms and good manufacturing practice (GMP) environments. We can also produce units in mild steel with a grit blasted and powder coated finish for when a stainless steel dolly is not required. For large orders, our drum dolly UK factory can powder coat dollys a colour of your choice to fit in with other work equipment found in your factory.
ATEX / UKEX-certified for gas and dust zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 (optional)
ATEX / UKEX-certified for gas and dust zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 (optional)
A fully-certified ATEX / UKEX drum dolly can be supplied for use in hazardous zoned areas. The 'Ex' rated model is suitable for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 - gas and dust classified spaces, where explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres exist. An ATEX / UKEX model would have anti-static wheels and earthing chains along with all the necessary certifications.
Each ATEX / UKEX drum dolly we manufacture is checked to ensure a path to ground is always present. We supply each piece of 'Ex' drum handling equipment with a manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity, this demonstrates compliance with the directives and relevant British and ISO Standards.
